Judô Móvel Project
The project
It started in 2009 when its creator Sensei Elton Fiebig moved to Pocos de Caldas.
Period in which he still represented the city of São Caetano as an athlete and coach where he had the opportunity to train performance athletes with Olympic medals and World Championships!
Upon arriving in Pocos de Caldas, the first partnership was established with Academia Projeto Soma, which aimed to give low-income or socially vulnerable children the opportunity to benefit from the practice of judo!
A volunteering project was also started at Lar Criança Feliz in 2009 and 2010 and with the support of the Municipal Sports Incentive Law, it was possible to contemplate more children and also take judo to new centers such as Escola Dona Mariquinhas Brochado, Igreja São Judas, CRAS Itamaraty and also at María Imaculada.
There were more than 250 children practicing the sport in addition to private schools! Resources were always scarce but there was always the help of friends who donated Kimono, mats and money for registration in competitions! Sensei Elton, He traded his car for a Kombi so he could take judo to more children and also take them to competitions.
“We train in the open air, in the rain, in the cold, but we never stop fighting! Today our project has trained professionals in different areas of our society who have been able to experience what judo can do and the power to transform these people and their lives!” – complete sensei Elton.
There have been many difficulties and a hard road up to now, but for those who practice Judo, dealing with these adversities and frustrations and, above all, never giving up is normal!
And a new chapter begins now with the Instituto da Luta! We are excited about the beautiful future that lies ahead.
