Who we are
It is very hard to define where Instituto da Luta started. It is a conjunction, of many peoples’ dreams, struggles, and experiences.
The Instituto da Luta came to live to spread, facilitate and support the practice of combat sports around the world. Instituto da Luta exist to help children in need find their life motivation, their experiences, their values, and morals through sports, more specifically combat sports. Still, we are not dedicated to one sport only.
Moreover, we are not committed to a single Martial Art we are also committed to helping coaches, athletes, and hobbyists to accomplish their dreams using the tools of Jiu Jitsu, Judo, Wrestling, Boxing, Kickboxing, Capoeira, and making this world a better place, a place where people can take responsibility for their acts, a place where people respect each other, a place where people can be great contributors in their communities.
But if you want to trace a historical line of Instituto da Luta we can say that it started when one of the founders of Instituto da Luta had to develop a group project for his professional MBA at Real Madrid University to conclude his degree. The group was composed of students from Brazil, Jordan, France, Lebanon, Canada, and United Arab Emirates. Initially, the project aimed to bring Martial Arts to the children in need at the Zaatari refugee camp (which is still a plan). But because Brazil was the home country of one of these students. The project is taking place in Brazil because of the network of professionals ready to start and bring the project to life. We are initially starting with the sport of Judo, we will be offering free classes to children in need so we can start helping their parents to educate them using the martial arts code and values.
The two programs that are partnering up with Instituto da Luta should be mentioned here: Projeto Judo Movel (coordinated by Sensei Elton Fiebig and IBJ Judo (coordinated by sensei Ivaldo Bruno Jr. and sensei Jose Luiz Duarte)
The Instituto da Luta founders believe that we can tackle many problems such as:
1.
Keeping the kids away from violence and being recruited to the crime.
2.
Help them with their mental health
3.
Help them to have a break from technology
4.
Help them to be socially competent (being able to talk and respect other opinions).
